Installation Production Log
Installation Production Log
2nd May-
- The class was given the brief and told what was needed to be done, this entailed making an art installation in one of the booth down in H09.
- Before I decided what type of installation I wanted to design I asked around to see if anyone wanted to work with me, Sam wanted to work with me so we will now work on this project together.
- We brainstormed a few ideas however as the lesson was short and coming to an end we didn't get many ideas on paper.
- Me and Sam began to brainstorm numerous ideas, one idea was to compare the differences between urban areas and woodland areas and show the deforestation that is going on as we speak. I liked this idea because it would really challenge peoples perceptions and opinions on where they may live and I want something that can challenge.
- Me and Sam today came up with are final idea that will be presented.
- The instillation will be used to show the difference in meals from 1st world countries to 2nd world countries.
- Today I finished all of my pre production, this included risk assessments, reeces and storyboards. I'm really glad that I finished all of this because it will allow me to know crack on with filming for the video and getting the set looking right.
- Today Me and Sam presented are final idea to Deborah, Deborah seemed to find the idea creative however did say that it may be hard to make the set look real. I agreed with everything that she said and have taken on board what will need to be done if I want the installation to look authentic.
- Today Sam and I gathered clips from the internet that could be used for the installations video that we will need to show African eating culture or what they may see as a delicacy.
- Also Me and Sam Left college early around 3:30 so we could film some more footage for the video that will be used in the installation.
- We visited KFC and got some really interesting shots that include people eating and acting as if they are not appreciative of it.
- Today I edited all the clips that I gathered and made my own edit of the installation video. I'm pleased with the final edit as it is just what I wanted it to look like, The clip has about 80% filmed footage with Me, Sam and Carl (who I have completed permission slip for), and around 20% stock footage. The film has been produced so it can continuously be looped over and over again.
- Today me and Sam from 10am to 1:30pm worked on the installation, I am really happy with the final design of the installation as it is just what I wanted it to look like. The mannequin looks very authentic as he lays down at the side with a hat and sleeping blanket. Matt allowed us to use a light for the installation that will include sliders that make the light look even more authentic. Before I came to college I went into town and visited pound stretcher so I could buy a bin as well as some garden wire that could be used in the installation.
