Production Log

Today I found out what group I was in for the production, the group will be Me, Sam, Tom and Luke.
I also found out what the production was on, which is on the view restaurant. We have been tasked to promote the restaurant and show it in a good light so people will watch and want to come along.
As a group we started to brainstorm ideas that we could use in the production, this opened up ideas that I didn't think before so doing this was very beneficial. My first idea was to start the video off by having someone walk up to the restaurant as if it was in first person. I like the idea of this because it will look very professional.

Today as a group we went up to the artisan restaurant and filmed for a good hour, we used a new canon camera and a tripod, we got loads of really good shots that included people in the restaurant eating at a table, also we used shots backstage in the kitchen showing students preparing food which I'm hoping gives the viewer a better understanding on what the students do.
After we finished filming at the restaurant we came back to the booth and put all the clips onto hard drives.
I have also started to make my shot type inspiration presentation.

Today we had a meeting with a level 2 student, the meeting went really well and we got a lot of useful information regarding what they would like.
Also today I visited my inspiration presentation and completed more of it.
As a group we visited the artisan restaurant again to gather more footage and also try and film an interview with the head of the artisan as well as the head chef.

Today Me and Sam started to edit the video clips gathered from the artisan which included the interview and videos from inside the kitchen
Also today I emailed the person who owned the soundtrack that we would like to use for the edit.
The Guy emailed back basically straight away and said it wasn't a problem if we used the soundtrack which was fantastic. This now allows me to not worry anymore about copyright infringements.

Today Me and Sam finished are final edit for the artisan restaurant. The video is 1:35 and I believe really shows off the restaurant well. I rendered the video and submitted it as well as putting a copy of it on the college system.

Today as a group Me, Tom, Sam and Luke had a visit from the head of the Artisan Karen and the lead chef Darren, they came to see what the both edits looked like.
Both of them seemed very happy with the edits and really had no sort of negative feedback at all so I am really happy with the way it turned out.
